The Solo Stove is a natural convection downgas gasifer stove designed for backpacking, camping and survival purposes. This lightweight and compact stove has a diameter of 4.25 inches, a packed height of 3.8 inches, an assembled height of 5.7 inches, and a weight of 9 ounces.

One of the most appealing features of these stoves is the fact that it cooks your meals with nothing but the twigs you collect on your adventure, thereby eliminating the need for expensive, polluting petroleum gas. According to the official product listing, air intake holes on the bottom of the stove channel air to the bottom of the fire, while channels simultaneously warm air up between the walls of the stove. This burst of preheated oxygen which feeds back into the firebox through the smaller holes causes a secondary combustion, allowing fire to burn more completely. This is why there isn’t alot of smoke during a full burn. A more efficient burn means the end user will save wood when compared to an open camp fire.

According to the official website, the Solo Stove is built using a one piece construction process which involves precision presses to form and shape solid pieces of high grade stainless steel. The stove’s outer shell is one complete piece of stainless steel with no seams or weld. The inner firebox and floating ashpan also boasts a one-piece construction. Nichrome wire, which has a high melting point of 2552 degrees Fahrenheit, is used for the grate.

The Solo Stove is available at a manufacturer suggested retail price of $69.99. See below for additional details.
