“Tough Mudder is not so much a who or a where, but a mindset. In the basest terms, it is a short marathon run through a diabolically difficult obstacle course that seems to have been dreamt up by the Marquis de Sade and R. Lee Ermey. Mud plays a major role in these 10 to 12 mile runs, with anywhere from 20 to 25 military-style obstacles in between to separate, as they say, the men from the boys and women from the girls.”
