As the head of the Pathfinder School and a renowned survivalist with over two decades of bushcrafting, outdoor self reliance and primitive skills experience, it’s safe to say Dave Canterbury knows a high quality outdoor product when he sees one. To that end, he recently sat down with Panteao Productions to briefly discuss some of the most effective tools currently available at Self Reliance Outfitters for cooking and carrying water over long distances.
The first product Canterbury discusses is the Pathfinder Stainless Steel Bush Pot. This durable, fire-ready, lightweight pot boasts an 8 cup (64oz.) capacity and is capable of cooking a meal for a small family. It comes with a stainless steel lid with a “D” ring, a stainless steel nesting stove, and a 3 position bail with bat wing handles and a pour spout. MSRP is $49.99.
Next up, Canterbury highlights the Bottle & Nesting Cup Set. As the name implies, the bottle — designed to hold exactly 32 oz. of liquid — nests inside the cup for easy and compact storage. The bottle features a widemouth design, making it easy to get water from shallow water pools. This set also comes with a 25 oz. stainless steel cup with “bat wing” handles and a stainless steel cup lid with straining holes. MSRP is $39.99.
The third product Dave Canterbury discusses is the Pathfinder Widemouth Military Canteen Cooking Kit. Perfect for survival situations, this kit comes with a 39 oz. widemouth stainless steel canteen that nests inside the cup. It also has a stainless steel canteen nesting stove that is 5 ¼” long, 3 ½” wide, 3 ¼” tall. The entire kit comes in a MOLLE adaptable pouch. MSRP is $59.99.
One of the newest products available at Self Reliance Outfitters is the Pathfinder Alcohol Stove with a stove ring and flame regulator. This stainless steel stove has a height of 2 5/8″ and a width of 3 3/8″. It holds approximately 4.5 ounces of fuel and the burn time is 20 minutes plus. If you buy this product, you’ll get a free 8 oz plastic fuel container for carrying your alcohol. MSRP is $34.99.
