Prep yourself, your loved ones and your community to be able to weather the storm with tips and strategies from National Preparedness Month this September. Each week will feature different hazards or disasters and how to tackle them.

Week one (Sept. 1-5) will offer information on how to respond and prepare for floods. Week two (Sept. 6-12) will focus on wildfires. Week three (Sept. 13-19) will offer information on hurricane preparedness. Week four (Sept. 14-26) will be about preparing for power outages. And the final week (Sept. 27-30) will lead up to National PrepareAthon! Day on Sept. 30.

Ready offers tips and information on how to plan for disasters at http://www.ready.gov/make-a-plan. You don’t have to wait until September to start planning ahead.
