Starting a fire with nothing more than a sandwich bag and some water is quick and easy.

At any given time, most people have a random sandwich bag in their pockets or pack. Perhaps there are a couple in your car or you can find one on the ground. That said, making a simple refraction fire by focusing the sun through the bag of water is easy. This is the same concept behind a magnifying glass, a fresnel lens and certain types of eye glasses.

When fire is essential, you want to know as many different ways to start one, especially when you are out of matches, your lighter is dry, or a friction fire is not efficient. If done right, a refraction device, such as this, is quick and easy.
