What’s so amazing about technology is that it can document events you’d never imagine witnessing in a lifetime. Flying through the clouds on a plane is one thing, but actually seeing them formulate into a storm in quick succession is spectacular. Thanks to storm chaser Mike Olbinski, who made it his prerogative to drive over 10,000 miles in 14 days to capture the beauty of the thunderstorms while using the time-lapse photographic technique.

The storm clouds footage was filmed in 10 states using Canon 5D3, 5D2 and Rokinon lenses ranging from 14mm – 85mm, according to Olbinski’s video. The states he journeyed across were New Mexico, Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Nebraska, South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana and North Dakota.
